The Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) head, Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazadeh condemned the forced haircut of the beard of a Wahhabi in Sabirabad.
“The one who did it made a mistake and should be punished for arbitrariness,” the sheikh told Turan.
Pashazade called it a “provocation” and an attempt of “certain forces” to disrupt stability in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, it is certain that there are no forces capable of creating a confrontation between different religious movements in Azerbaijan.
“Between individuals there may be squabbles, but no more,” said the sheikh, believing that in Azerbaijan there is religious tolerance, and therefore a collision motivated by religious intolerance between different currents is impossible.
Pashazadeh called the press to be sensitive to this issue, and not to inflate the event.
He called provocative messages about the raid of a large group of Wahhabis to Sabirabad in order to avenge their comrade insulted and beaten.
