UN representatives visited the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and got acquainted with the situation on the spot. The UN mission talked with the local population and other people here, as well as got acquainted with the situation in health and educational institutions on the spot.
There was no damage to civil and public infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, residential buildings, cultural and religious facilities, in the places visited by the mission members in the city of Khankendi.
The mission did not receive any complaints from the local population or other interlocutors regarding violence against civilians after the last ceasefire.
The UN representation in Azerbaijan plans to continue its regular visits to the region.
Speaking to ARB24 Television about the issue, human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov called the UN mission’s visit to Karabakh the next diplomatic victory of Azerbaijan and considered it necessary to make such visits regular in order to expose armenian lies.
