Today, the international conference on “The Role of Civil Society in the Promotion and Protection of Tolerance and Non-Discrimination” organized by the OSCE Chairpersonship of North Macedonia, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) started its work in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The role of civil society organizations in promoting and protecting tolerance and combating discrimination in the OSCE region was widely discussed at the meeting attended by representatives from OSCE participating States, OSCE institutions and other executive structures and international organizations, civil society and other stakeholders and representatives of state institutions from 57 countries.
Speaking at the event, the head of the Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov informed about the ongoing peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and emphasized the active role of civil society representatives of both countries in the peace-making process.
