Ilham Aliyev and Thorbjorn Jagland discuss democracy issues

President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland.

The sides exchanged views on the processes taking place in Azerbaijan, the situation on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the press service of the president.

Recall that recently Jagland repeatedly criticized Baku for the persecution of activists in Azerbaijan, and called  on to release the known political prisoners.

This criticism irritated official Baku, who claimed that Yangland was  misinformed, and the situation is quite different.

As part of the Munich trip, Aliyev met with President of Macedonia George Ivanov, Serbian Prime Minister Alexander Vucic, French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
