Armenia’s non-constructive position is leading to new tensions in the region. Harsh statements of the Armenian side, which did not comply with the conditions of the tripartite agreement dated November 10, 2020, in relations with Russia have become a new source of tension in the region.
Against the background of ongoing protests on the Lachin-Khankendi road, Nikol Pashinyan’s harsh criticism against Russia caused the Kremlin’s displeasure.
Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, a political analyst in his interview to the TRT Arabia channel about the ongoing tensions in the South Caucasus, said that Armenia cannot prevent the opening of the Zangezur Corridor: “The Zangezur Corridor will be opened. The Azerbaijani side has given Armenia until the end of this year. Otherwise, new military operations will be inevitable.”
