“Another mass grave found in Edilli village of Hocavend region” – Dr. Ahmad Shahidov spoke to the ARB24 channel

In the lands freed from occupation, including the villages of Dashalti of Shusha district, Edilli village of Khojavend district, Syrkhavand villages of Aghdam district, as well as Farrukh village of Khojaly district and other areas, by the employees of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Security Service, the State Commission on Prisoners, Missing and Hostaged Citizens, mass graves were discovered as a result of relevant search measures carried out together with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross and other relevant institutions.

Human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, who was a guest at “Working Time” program of ARB24 Television on the subject, gave extensive information about the war crimes committed by Armenia and talked about the mass graves discovered in the lands liberated from occupation.

The remains of more than 450 human corpses, believed to belong to the missing persons during the First Karabakh War, were exhumed from the cemeteries within the criminal case investigated under Articles 115.4, 120.2.7, 120.2.12 and other articles of the Criminal Code was done by the Azerbaijan Military Prosecutor’s Office. About 300 forensic-medical and more than 280 molecular-genetic expertises were appointed and directed for implementation. Also, witnesses were interrogated and other necessary investigative and operational measures were performed.

Deputy General Prosecutor-Military Prosecutor of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Khanlar Valiyev visited the mentioned areas on October 26 this year and took an interest in the progress of the investigation of the criminal case and gave relevant recommendations and instructions.

At the moment, investigative and operational measures are being continued within the criminal case.
