In his interview to TRT World Television, head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov said that for the first time in 27 years, azan was performed in Aghdam, liberated from the Armenian occupation: “Azerbaijan will also restore the city of Aghdam. Of course, we must comprehensively do everything. A master plan will be prepared, and specialists will be involved. Infrastructure projects, office buildings, social facilities, roads, and other necessary work will be carried out in a planned manner. Azerbaijani state will help citizens to return there. Therefore, the restoration of the Aghdam district will have a special place in our plans because it is a large district in terms of territory and, at the same time, it is the largest district in terms of population.”
