The event was attended by British MPs, representatives of international organizations, media representatives and public and political activists from around 30 countries. The discussions focused on conflicts around the world, ways to achieve peace and the rights of refugees and IDPs around the world.

Ahmad Shahidov, head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, who is closely involved in the hearings, spoke about conflicts in the world and their solutions, informed the participants on Armenian-Azerbaijani-Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and mentioned four UN Security Council resolutions on the conflict have not yet been implemented: “The effectiveness of the UN, which is responsible for what is happening around the world today, is the subject of discussion. If the resolutions of the UN Security Council are not enforced, then the organization should be reorganized. My country Azerbaijan has been suffering from territorial integrity and terrorism for over 30 years. We have been living as IDPs for over 30 years. There are 4 UN Security Council resolutions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that have not yet been implemented. We must first have an effective UN. We need to achieve rapid peace, not rapid weapons. Because our future depends on achieving peace today.”
