Ahmad Shahidov met with the Serbian Ombudsman Mr. Zoran Pashalich

On November 8, the Head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, who is on a working visit in Europe, met with the Ombudsman of Republic of Serbia Mr. Zoran Pashalich in Belgrade. Speaking about the activities of his organization, Mr. Ahmad Shahidov informed his Serbian counterpart about the projects, meetings and visits they have carried out, expressed their interest in cooperation with the Republic of Serbia and said that there is a great potential for joint activities.

Expressing his satisfaction with the welcoming of the Azerbaijani human rights defender in Belgrade, Mr. Zoran Pashalich gave detailed information about the situation of human rights in Serbia and said that the rights of ethnic minorities in Serbia are fully protected and the co-existence of all peoples is fully ensured. Stating that Serbia has embraced refugees from the Middle East conflict zones, especially from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, the Serbian Ombudsman said that his country has a sufficient experience in protecting human values.

During the meeting, preliminary agreement on mutual cooperation was reached and the outline of joint activities was discussed. The Head of the AIDHR presented his books on the truths of Azerbaijan, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, armenian terrorism and the Azerbaijani refugees to Mr. Zoran Pashalich, the Ombudsman of Republic of Serbia.
