Ahmad Shahidov criticizes Freedom House at OSCE Freedom of media conference

While commenting on propaganda for war, head of AIDHR touched upon the fact that some international organizations back separatism

The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media has conducted gathering on “Propaganda for war and hatred is detrimental to free expression and media freedom,” in Vienne, Austria on February 12. The meeting which attended by 57 OSCE participating coutnries featured discussions on propaganda for war and freedom of media.

Attending the meeting Ahmad Shahidov, Head of Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) commented on propaganda for separatism and harshly criticized recent report of the US Freedom House. In his speech head of AIDHR criticized the report issued by the Freedom House in which Nagorno Karabakh was presented as“Independent Republic”. Mr. Shahidov further highlighted four resolutions of UN Security Council on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He also added significance of international law’s being effective.
