Today, political commentator Ahmad Shahidov appeared on ARB24 Television’s “İşgüzar Səhər” (“Business Morning”) program. He discussed the upcoming Victory Parade to be held in Baku on November 8 — the Day of Victory — where the leaders of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan are expected to come together, symbolizing the unity of the three brotherly nations. Shahidov emphasized that this alliance holds not only symbolic but also strategic significance, representing a strong model of cooperation that responds to new political and moral challenges in the region.
The discussion also focused on the growing political tensions within Armenia. Ahmad Shahidov noted that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s increasing pressure on the Armenian Church and the opposition has deepened the domestic crisis. According to him, the weakening of independent institutions and escalating internal confrontation may negatively affect regional stability and draw the attention of neighboring countries.
The program further addressed recent peace initiatives in the Middle East and the potential deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza. Reports indicate that under a U.S.-backed peace plan, several countries — including Indonesia, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan — have been mentioned as possible contributors of contingents. Ahmad Shahidov stated that Azerbaijan could participate in such missions through humanitarian and security support, but any military deployment would only be possible under a UN Security Council mandate and in full accordance with international law. Negotiations on the matter are still ongoing, and no official decision has yet been made.
