Azerbaijan’s civil society to support Ukraine

Representatives of civil society of Azerbaijan expressed solidarity with the struggle of the Ukrainian people for freedom and resistance in repelling the aggression of Russia during the interactive appeal to the People’s Chamber participants in Kiev on Sunday.

From Baku the director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy Leyla Yunus, the chairman of the party Musavat Isa Gambar and others appealed to the People’s Chamber.

Leyla Yunus recalled that 73 years ago, Nazi Germany on June 22 at 4 a.m. bombed Kiev and ironically Ukraine today in the 21st century is exposed to the Russian aggression.

Yunus expressed confidence that, as in World War II, in the current situation the Ukrainians will come out victorious.

The Azerbaijani people are particularly experiencing the events in Ukraine and the annexation of the Crimea, because they themselves also experienced aggression from the neighbor, which with the support of Russia annexed a part of the Azerbaijani lands – Karabakh, Gambar said.

He also expressed confidence in the victory of Ukrainian way of European integration and formation of Ukraine as a democratic and free state.

“The people of Azerbaijan are with you. Glory to Ukraine!” sounded a final appeal from the studio audience of the agency Turan.
