Ex-deputy complains about discrimination

hacibala_ezimovOn Tuesday ex-deputy Hajibaba Asimov  held a press conference at the Media Center IRFS due to discrimination against deputies who signed the October 18, 1991 Act of Independence of Azerbaijan. He believes that  there is a threat to the independence of Azerbaijan, which comes from Russia and pro-Russian officials  of the “five column,” which  are many in the country’s leadership.

Azimov said that over the past eight  years the State Independence Day, October 18,  is  not celebrated in Azerbaijan, and it  is the result of activities of specific individuals. In all countries, except Azerbaijan, Independence Day  is  a day off.

Hajibaba Azimov also touched on the issue of pensions of deputies who signed the Act of Independence. In blamed the head of the secretariat of the Milli Majlis Safa Mirzayev, who “is closely linked to Russia and PKK.”

Moreover, the pension is not granted only those deputies participating Act of Independence, who were deputies from 1991 to 1995. The reason for this is a special letter by  Safa Mirzoyev  to the Labor and Social Protection Fund.

Asimov presented reporters a copy of the letter, and said that  there was not any appeal to the court on this issue. However Mirzoyev through his brother, the chairman of the   Board for territorial and economic affairs of the Supreme Court, gave no opportunity to make a fair decision.

Nevertheless, Azimov said, ex-MPs  will continue their struggle and will bring the issue to the European Court.
