Former US ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza and Armenian expert Richard Giragosian also joined the discussions on the Khojaly genocide and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Responding to the questions of famous presenter Imran Garda, the guests voiced their views on the Khojaly genocide and discussed the prospects for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov, who demonstrated special activity in the debate, informed about the Khojaly genocide and said that the Armenian armed forces killed 613 people in one night, 1275 are still in captivity and hostage. Underlined the only solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in accordance with international law, Ahmad Shahidov said that Azerbaijan is a multicultural country, more than 35,000 Armenians live in Azerbaijan, and the Armenian church is preserved in the centre of Baku. However, the human rights defender, who said that Armenians destroyed the existing mosques in Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied territories, demonstrated a photo of the 2 year-old Zahra killed on the frontline in July 2017 and strongly condemned Armenians for the same brutality and cruelty 25 years after the Khojaly genocide.
