On June 8 the police of Mingechevir city arrested 22 people, to promote ideas of the sect “Jehovah’s Witnesses” , according to the press office of the Interior Ministry.
The detention took place in the apartment of a resident Asif Bekirova where members of the sect were gathering.
During the search there were found 13 religious books. After giving explanation three people were released, including son of the landlord. The fate of the remaining detainees is not reported.
