Issue of Nagorno Karabakh Conflict to be discussed at University of Bern

Joint conference has been organised on Nagorno Karabakh conflict and its peaceful solution in Bern, Switzerland 

The Conference “Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict – Russia’s next Pandora’s Box?” has been organized by Institute for Conflict Transformation and Peace building (ICP) in cooperation with Center for Global Sciences (CGS) and Swiss Society Middle East and Islamic Cultures (SGMOIK) at University of Bern in Switzerland on February 10-11. The conference has been attended by the representatives of thinks tanks across Europe as well as representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The issues of Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Turkey and Russia, transformation of conflicts and European Union stance towards this conflict have been discussed. The conference which was closed to mass media also saw debates on measures to be taken in relation to peaceful solution to the conflicts.

According to Ahmad Shahidov, Head of Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) the conference that attended by civil society actors featured discussions on peaceful resolution to the conflicts in the region and way of conflict transformation.
