Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) carried out monitoring of 5th April’s protest rally
As informed early, an authorised protest rally took place in “Mahsul” stadium which locates in Yasamal District, Baku on April 5. The rally that organised by the National Council commenced at 03; 00pm and continued until 05; 00pm. In accordance with the monitoring results of rally that conducted by AIDHR, it’s declared that the rally was held in line with the standards of “The Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Freedom of Assembly”. Based on the observations, the rally accompanied with no incidents and mistreatment of law enforcers and protesters peacefully exercised their right on freedom of peaceful assembly.
AIDHR is committed to conduct monitoring of future demonstrations, to assess the level of exercising freedom of peaceful assembly in Azerbaijan.
