Nasibov returned to Nakhchivan after a survey in Turkey

On the evening of 1 September, after a survey in Turkey, the human rights activist Ilgar Nasibov accompanied by his wife Malahat returned to Nakhchivan.

The head of the Nakhchivan Resource Center for NGO Development and Democracy,

Malahat Nasibova told Turan that the survey was conducted in the hospital of the medical university of Van.

“Doctors were surprised that Ilgar quickly restored after serious injury,” she said.

Turkish physicians ascertained fractures in the front of the head, chest bruising and ribs. By happy coincidence, the internal organs are not damaged.

Noting the right treatment at the initial stage, doctors prescribed continuation of rehabilitation therapy – at Ilgar they observed numbness of the injured right side of the face, said Malahat.

The human rights activist also said that the criminal investigation into the beating of Ilgar is still not filed, the police conduct an administrative investigation.

Nasibova headed to Turkey from Nahchavan on August 30th. After crossing the border, they went to Van on the Turkish First Aid coach, accompanied by international human rights defenders.

Recall that Nasibov was brutally beaten in the evening on August 21 at the Resource Center for NGO Development and Democracy. Local and international democratic community were outraged by this cruel act, describing it as revenge by the authorities for exposing rights violations in Nakhchivan. However, the police claimed that the incident took place on domestic grounds, and even did not open a criminal case.
