Loss of the military from beginning of the year amounted to 77 people

Loss of the defense and security sector of Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2014 to August 31, amounted to 77 people, according to the Doctrine Center for Journalistic Military Research.

During the same period there were wounded or injured 115 people.

25 people were killed during shelling from the Armenian side and three stepped on mines. 49 were not combat losses: 13 killed in road accidents, 2 – in unknown circumstances, 7 – as a result of hazing, 3 – in accidents (drowning, electric shocks), 9 died from diseases and 15 committed suicide or careless handling of weapons.

As for the wounded, 26 were wounded by enemy fire, 10 stepped on mines, and the rest suffered from a non-combat situation. In the same period, one recruit died in a car accident.

In addition, as a result of fire from the Armenian side 16 civilians were injured and two others were killed. Armenians took hostage two civilians from Azerbaijan.

At the same time, four Armenian citizens were captured by the Azerbaijani side. Three of them were returned and on one there is no information.

Another Armenian died.
