“Iranian-Azerbaijani relations are entering a new stage” – Ahmad Shahidov talked to Sahar Television

Relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, which supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan during the 44-day Second Karabakh War, are entering a new phase. The meetings held by the Iranian Foreign Minister in Baku during his visit to the region and important statements about Azerbaijan indicate that relations between the two countries will further develop.

Speaking to Iran’s Sahar TV, Ahmad Shahidov, head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, stressed that Iran still supported Azerbaijan during the First Karabakh War and took a fair position during the 44-day Great Patriotic War.
