Ahmad Shahidov issued a video appeal on the French President’s April 24 decision

French President Emmanuel Macron intends to announce the date of the 24th of April in France as the day of so-called “Armenian genocide”. Macron called the 1915 events as “genocide of Armenians” and “a crime against humanity”.

Attending the annual meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Armenian Organizations of France, Emmanuel Macron, as promised in the pre-election campaign, has announced that the memorial day for the so-called “Armenian genocide” will be added to the French calendar.

Human Rights Defender Ahmad Shahidov, in his video appeal on the April 24 decision of the French President, said the allegations of “Armenian genocide” are not based on any historical facts, underlined political manipulation around this issue and conveyed to French President Emmanuel Macron the Khojaly genocide, saying that it is inadmissible to address historical events from bilateral standards.
