PFPA Activist Arrested for 25 Days

Sabirabad District Court on December 18 arrested for 25 days the Popular Front Party activist Miraga Abbasov on charges of resisting arrest and evading military service.

The Deputy Chairman of PFPA, Abulfaz Gurbanli told Turan there was no resistance. “The police came and quietly took the activist,” he said.

As for the charges of evading military service, he has been declared unfit for service, in accordance with the decision of the District Draft Board.

The real reason for the arrest of Abbasov is his active participation in political life and publications in social networks. “Some time ago, a person in civilian clothes have detained and warned him,” said Gurbanli.
