Problems in registry office considered

The Public Association against Corruption “Transparency Azerbaijan” supported by USAID organized a roundtable discussion on issues of civil registration yesterday.

The discussions were attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, General Prosecutor’s Office, ASAN, Ministry of Health, the State Committee on Women, as well as NGOs.

It was noted that in recent years, legislation has been introduced a number of amendments to improve the transparency and efficiency of the civil registry. However, despite this, and the provision of electronic services, the difficulties have not been removed.

Civil society representatives proposed measures to address the existing problems and minimize the risk of corruption in the civil registry.

Specific measures will be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice and other state agencies.
