Azerbaijan strengthens measures against Ebola virus

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Azerbaijan is not included in the risk group of the spread of the Ebola virus. However, the penetration of this dangerous virus cannot be excluded. For this reason, the Minister of Health Oktay Shiraliev issued an order “On preventive measures to prevent the Ebola virus”. As part of this, measures are taken to prevent virus penetration in Azerbaijan, Turan was told by the department head of the Republican anti-plague clinic, Rita Ismailova.

In particular, workers in sanitary and quarantine inspection, together with the customs authorities organized monitoring at border checkpoints, involving physical examination of persons coming to Azerbaijan from countries where the virus is detected.

In addition, goods coming from the same countries are checked. “Every measures are taken to prevent penetration of the disease in Azerbaijan,” said Ismailova.

At the same time, in cases of suspected disease people should contact the Research Institute of Lung Diseases, which has special wards and conditions for the reception of such patients. The primary symptoms are fever, headache, there are flu-like symptoms, nausea, vomiting, and bleeding.

“In order not to be infected, you must observe the rules of personal hygiene, avoid contact in places of crowds. It is advisable to use a mask and wash hands frequently with soap and water, “- said Ismailova. The virus is spread through infected animals, mostly bats and monkeys.
